ASA Aquatics Academy
HKIS Water Polo introduces students to the sport of Water Polo, an internationally played game promoting teamwork, invasion game strategy, and fitness. In Primary school, students play a fun, modified version of the game. The main focus is to blend fundamental skills and basics into a recreational format, allowing players to learn while ensuring maximum enjoyment and participation for all involved. In Middle school, more dynamic aspects of water polo are developed in a safe yet challenging environment.
Two different sessions are offered in Primary school; an Exploration group from 3 to 4PM and a Development group from 4 to 5PM.
Exploration group:
- Can be of any grade level in UP
- Must have at least swimming level 3
- No or little (eg one term of ASA) prior experience with water polo
Development group:
- Grade 4 and 5 students with prior experience (eg two or more ASA terms) of water polo
- Grade 4 and 5 students new to water polo must have at least swimming level 4
- Students new to HKIS wishing to register must attend a pre-registration screening of their swimming level to be eligible for this group
