S.T.E.M. & Drone Quest Code
About The Genius Workshop
Since 2004, The Genius Workshop has been a pioneer in Hong Kong's STEM education landscape. Unlike traditional academic settings, our innovative programs immerse students in the applied sciences and cutting-edge technologies shaping our world.
From engineering and robotics to coding and experimental sciences, our thoughtfully-curated curriculum sparks curiosity and taps into the natural creativity of young minds. Through hands-on, play-based learning, our vision is to empower the next generation with the essential skills and mindsets needed to navigate an increasingly complex future. By fostering a love of lifelong learning and discovery, we aim to cultivate students to not just adapt to change, but to be one driving it.
Course Details
[Reception 1 - 2]
Jr Engineering Workshop: Intro to Machines
Schedule: Thursday 16:00-17:00
Fee: $5200 (16 classes)
Room not available on Jan 22: no class
Location: LP518
Description:
This program will introduce engineering theories through constructing simple and interesting projects with the application of such concepts, that is suitable for students of this age. Students will construct and modify their projects with LEGO® that simulate machineries they see around them, such as oil pump, vise, screw chair…etc.
[Grade 1 - 2]
Engineering Workshop: Forms of Energy
Schedule: Thursday 14:50-15:50 / Thursday 16:00-17:00
Fee: $5200 (16 classes)
Room not available on Jan 22: no class
Location: LP518 & LP618
Description:
Students are introduced to the non-renewable and renewable energy sources that are present in the world. The application of energy will be further studied through building and operating LEGO® machines powered by different forms of energy. Experimentation will be done by students using these LEGO® projects for investigation of the advantages and disadvantages of the various energy sources.
[Grade 3 - 4]
Robotics Division: Control & Functions
Schedule: Fri 14:50-15:50 / Fri 16:00-17:00
Fee: $4225 (14 classes in total, but only charging 13 classes for each grade due to school camp)
G4 Camp Oct 24: no class for G4
G3 Camp Oct 31: no class for G3
Location: LP518 & LP618
Description:
A well-written program is essential to successful operation in machines. In this program, students will experience the process of coding through experimentation with different robotic mechanisms upon completion of building different LEGO® robot. Tasks and missions will be given to further challenge their programming skills. This workshop will focus on
robot control.
[Grade 4 - 5]
Drone Code Quest
