Soccer Tier 1

Premiership & Championship Squads

The Girls and Boys Tier 1 Academy squad play as the Tai Tam Tigers and offers our talented young players the opportunity to train all year and to compete against some of the Territory’s best junior players in the HKJFL (Hong Kong Junior Football League). The boys also compete in the HKFA Golden Age Leagues. Tier 1 Academy squad players are expected to train 2 times per week with matches on Saturdays. The Boys Tier 1 Academy starts at Under 9’s and goes through Under 14. The Girls are made up of three squads, the U10's, U12's and the U14's/15's .

Within the Tier 1 squads, there are two teams - The Premiership team and the Championship team. These teams are not fixed and players can move between these teams. Please see the Team Selection section of the Handbook for more information on how these teams are selected.

Assessment Day on Saturday August 26th

To be a part of the Tier 1 and 2 Squads, all players must attend the Assessment Day on Saturday August 26th. Players must Register for the Assessment Day through SchoolsBuddy.

  • U7/U8: 8-9:30am ; U9: 9-10:30am ; U10: 10-11:30am ; U11 & U12: 11:30am-1pm

*U15 Girls are also able to participate with the U14 squad if they are not participating in the HKFA U15's or U18's leagues.

Boys Schedule

BOYS TIER 1 ACADEMY SQUAD TRAINING DAYS & TIMES

  • U9-U12 teams listed below will train at the Tai Tam field on Wednesdays Wed 4:45 - 6:15pm with each team's 2nd training session as below:-
  • U9 (2015) - Tuesdays at UP Gym - 4:00pm to 5:15pm* - Flat soles required
  • U10 (2014) - Thursdays at UP Gym - 4:00pm to 5:15pm* - Flat soles required

* Students in the Academy midweek sessions at Repulse Bay are automatically enrolled in 3-4pm After School Care

  • U11 (2013) - Mondays at TT field - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
  • U12 (2012) - Mondays at TT field - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
  • U13/14 (2010/11) - Mondays at TT field - 6:30pm to 8:00pm & Wednesday at TT Field- 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Matches are on Saturdays and usually in the morning.

FEES - HK$14,000 divided into 2 installments of $7,000 (1st Sept and 1st Jan)

Girls Schedule

GIRLS ACADEMY SQUAD TRAINING DAYS & TIMES (players to be allocated after assessment) first training date will be Wed Aug 31st

  • U8 (2016 / 2017) - Sun 3:00pm to 4:30pm at Tai Tam Field
    (Note there is also a G1-2 girls session on Fridays 3:00pm - 4:00pm at UP 614 Multipurpose Room, Repulse Bay)
  • U10 (2014 / 2015) - Wed 4:45 - 6:15pm & Sun 3:00pm to 4:30pm at Tai Tam Field
  • U12 (2012 / 2013) - Wed 6:30pm - 8:00pm & Sun 3:00pm to 4:30pm at Tai Tam Field
  • U14 (2010 / 2011) - Wed 6:30pm - 8:00pm & Sun 3:00pm to 4:30pm at Tai Tam Field.

For U8 & U10 girls there are 5 to 6 tournaments per year to compete in (some Sat & some Sun) and we will arrange ad-hoc friendly matches on Saturday's where we can.

For U12 & U14 girls, league matches are mostly on Saturdays & can be in the morning or afternoon. Day's that do not have league matches, we will find friendly matches where we can.

FEES - HK$14,000 divided into 2 installments of $7,000 (1st Sept and 1st Jan)

How to register on SchoolsBuddy

  1. Create a Schools buddy account (Please email us if you need the activation token to do this)
  2. Logon, click the 'Bookings Open' tab to see your child(ren) name(s) and what programs are available to them.
  3. When the actual term registration starts logon, click the Co-Curricular Programs tab, select the class of choice, click Book, then it will take you to the Asiapay Credit Card Payment page. After inputting your credit card details and confirming an confirmation page will appear plus an email confirmation will be sent.
  4. Click on My Diary to see all of the term's classes for your child(ren).
  5. HKIS students must register via the SchoolsBuddy system and Registration will open soon. Non-HKIS parents who do not already have an account need to create a New Account and then register their children and that can be done here: https://hkis.schoolsbuddy.net/Account/register.
