Enhancing Young Readers, Writers, and Mathematicians

Course Description:
"Enhancing Young Readers, Writers, and Mathematicians" is a comprehensive summer program designed to strengthen students' literacy and numeracy competencies through integrated instruction.
In writing, students will develop narrative and descriptive composition skills, focusing on revision, idea development, and effective communication. Conferring sessions will support skill development and foster a professional learning community.
In reading, students will analyze diverse literary genres and develop critical interpretation skills. Through structured debates, students will examine character development, evaluate textual evidence, and articulate reasoned arguments about literary elements.
In mathematics, students will apply problem-solving strategies to authentic, real-world scenarios. Collaborative group work will emphasize analytical thinking, solution justification, and multiple approaches to mathematical challenges.

Methodology:
Each week, students will participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and technology-based projects. The course will incorporate daily writing and reading exercises, along with math skills review, to reinforce learning. The program teacher will actively guide students through the creative process, encouraging exploration and innovation.
Assessment:
Students will demonstrate their understanding through various projects, including written pieces and math-related tasks. They will reflect on their learning journey, showcasing their growth in writing, reading, and math skills. This course is designed to build confidence and foster a lifelong love of learning through creativity and collaboration.
