Culinary Explorers - Fun and Flavors in the Kitchen

Course Description

Inviting all young culinary enthusiasts to embark on an exciting journey into the world of cooking!

This hands-on course is specially designed to introduce lower primary students to the joys of food preparation, basic cooking techniques, and kitchen safety while learning about different cuisines, ingredients and much more! Through engaging activities and delicious recipes, students will develop essential life skills, foster creativity, and cultivate a love for food and cooking. They're sure to make a mess and cook up a storm – all part of the fun! At the end of every session they will bring home something delicious to enjoy - after all, the best part of cooking is bringing people together by sharing with friends and family!

Learner Outcomes:

Students will:

  • Learn about ingredients, cooking techniques and measuring tools.
  • Learn various cooking-specific vocabulary and understand how to properly read and follow recipes.
  • Learn to cook some of their favorite foods.
  • Develop their food creativity, culinary skills, independence, and confidence.

Methodology:

Every day, the young chefs will learn tricks and tips on how to make a custom-tailored recipe or two, including how to be safe in the kitchen while preparing, serving, and cleaning up. Chefs will end the week with a collection of all the recipes they have made to continue to create at home!
