Course Description:

What does it take to be your own Boss?

In this dynamic course, students will dive into the exciting world of business creation, learning how to transform simple ideas into thriving ventures ready for the market. Explore indispensable 21st Century skills like collaborating, brainstorming and problem-solving through the lens of a young entrepreneur. Learn from local businesses and get inspired by Hong Kong entrepreneurs. Depart with a toolkit of invaluable skills applicable to daily life, and future endeavours to come!

1. Learn the basics of Launching a Business

  • Brainstorming an Idea / Investing in a Passion

  • Pitching (Public Speaking)

  • Understanding Budget and Resourcing

2. Refine valuable skills needed to navigate the Information Age

  • Leadership and Collaboration

  • Digital Literacy, in regards to Social Media and Marketing tactics

  • Creativity — how does an idea stand out?

  • Problem-solving and Flexibility

Methodology:

Phase 1. Conceptualise:

  • Brainstorm and develop innovative business ideas through creative exercises and problem-solving tasks

  • Understand target audiences, and identify market gaps

  • Hear from Hong Kong-owned businesses for inspiration

Phase 2. Marketing:

  • Create unique brand identities that resonate with their target market and stand out

  • Hands-on experience with digital marketing tools and techniques to promote their businesses effectively in the digital landscape

  • Case studies

Phase 3. Launch:

  • Refine projects based on feedback, ensuring they meet customer needs and preferences

  • Teach students essential sales skills and strategies to drive revenue and build customer relationships

Assessment:

Parents will be welcome to participate in a "Mock Market", where students will showcase final projects and experience their merchandising products.
