Course Description:

Summer Sports, Games and Activities Camp is an exciting opportunity for children who are enthusiastic to get active and seek adventure! Designed and led by experienced teaching staff this course is catered to all levels of ability. It offers an exciting variety of multiple sports, activities and challenges in a safe, fun, well-supervised learning environment filled with age-appropriate, daily indoor and (weather permitting) outdoor programming. 

Campers will challenge themselves through team games and adventure based activities. Throughout this course campers will foster an appreciation for physical activity and important elements of sport such as team building, cooperation, communication, collaboration, resilience, sportspersonship, leadership, and responsibility with a focus on active engagement, fair play and, most of all, enjoyment. We will also tap into our creative sides by learning to make healthy snacks too!

Learner Outcomes:

Students will:

  • Participate in fun and engaging activities while learning how to play a variety of sports and recreational games 
  • Be given an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves to learn new skills
  • Tap into their creativity as they create and develop their own games and activities, as well as tasty and healthy snacks. 
  • Develop their interpersonal skills by being positive team members, being gracious in defeat, and collaborating with others in a supportive and constructive manner 
  • Have fun

Methodology:

  • Differentiated activities to cater for all abilities
  • Structured sessions in traditional and non-traditional games and activities
  • Group activities to promote social skills, team building, problem solving and to encourage friendships
  • Sports, games and activities will be based on active participation and having fun

Assessment:

  • Ongoing, constructive feedback will be given in all activities throughout the duration of the camp 
  • No official assessments will be given during this camp as the emphasis is on inclusion and fun
