In collaboration with the Chinese Language Department the Activities Office is offering an exciting array of ASA activities this term. These ASA activities will explore Chinese language and culture with engaging activities that students can enjoy. 

The programs are designed to be fun, and engaging, they will allow students to develop and apply Chinese language skills in a safe and authentic situation. The programs will be offered by HKIS teachers and will help students connect with aspects of Chinese language and culture

All programs will be open to students in various grade levels. The programs will cater to students ranging from basic to more advanced language skills. The goal is for all students to participate in a fun, creative, and collaborative learning environment, where everybody can contribute to the final product. 

 

Chinese Table Tennis - Tuesday (3:15pm - 4:15pm) G6 - G12 (MS&HS)

  • Table tennis, also known as ping-pong, is a popular sport many people love playing and watching. Do you want to play table tennis and learn more Chinese while having fun and staying active? That's where a table tennis club comes in!
  • Learning Chinese through a table tennis club that focuses on learning and applying the Chinese language, you improve your language skills while enjoying the competitive and social aspects of playing ping-pong. Plus, you'll get to make more friends who share your interests. You may be surprised at how quickly you pick up the language while having a good time.
  • Students will be learning specific table tennis terminology, rules, and various skills and communicating with their partners for collaboration in Chinese. Students will also get opportunities to speak, learn, and play with the former Olympic Table Tennis Champion, Ms. Zhang Yining.
