R2 - Learn To Swim (L3)

 Learn to Swim

sw

ASA Swim

The genesis of all water safety - how to swim. Explore the world of water, gaining confidence through play and games. Acquire, develop and refine stroke techniques through differentiated instruction. The objective is to teach children aged 5 and above to be safe in, on, and around the water by building confidence and competent stroke technique.

Students will move through six (6) levels as they master buoyancy, personal safety skills, and stroke technique. Students will learn and grow as they work through logical progressions:

  • Level 1 - participants are oriented to the aquatic environment and gain some basic skills in each category.
  • Level 3 - on completion participants will have achieved basic water competency in a pool environment.
  • Level 6 - participants will have mastered strokes and develop the necessary skills to swim for life.
