Badminton (Upper Primary)

Torq Sports International Limited is founded by John Leung, ex-UK professional badminton player and national junior team coach. Torq’s vision is to develop global and international badminton circuit for all ages and culture and from grass root to elite levels for individuals to stay active and competitive. ​Shuttle Time (Badminton World Federation) and Racket Pack (Badminton England) are programs that Torq coaches use to introduce an educational and enjoyable badminton experience for students with all level of skills. 

HKIS ASA badminton program is a starting point for students to experience badminton an active lifestyle all year round.  As their skills mature, they can be better equipped for school teams in middle and high schools.Head Coach also has a comprehensive junior badminton pathway in Hong Kong Football Club to train and develop potential junior players to be performance-prepared.

Programs & Registration

  • Beginner & Intermediate - Friday (3-4 p.m.) G3 - G5 - Register Here
    • This is an introductory level for students who may not have full experience in badminton or just want to stay active. There will be a combination of games and basic skills for students at this level.
    • Expected Learning Outcomes
      • Learn basic badminton skills set
      • Learn game strategy through interaction with groups 
      • Preparation for school team try-out (Grade 6 and above)

 

  • Intermediate Level - Friday (4:00pm - 5:30pm) G6 - G8 - Register Here
    • This level will be a combined level of beginners and more progressive badminton players. There will be an introduction of basic badminton knowledge as well as preparation for school team tryout.
    • Expected Learning Outcomes
      • Teaching students how to stay active and have fun through badminton
      • Preparation for tryouts in school team

 

  • Advanced Level - Friday (4:00pm - 5:30pm) G9 and Above - Register Here
    • This level will fine tune basic skill sets focusing on steady shots delivery.
    • There will be more emphasis on strengthening application into games. 
    • Expected Learning Outcomes
      • Competition readiness
      • Preparation for tryouts in school team
