Band Basics
Program Overview
Band Basics is a vibrant activity where inquisitive children are invited to be explorers in a musical world by playing brass and wind band instruments. Students rotate through Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone and Flute band instruments to play, discover and experience the fun and joy of music sharing and making.
The Upper Primary Band program is open to students in grades 3-5 and offers an opportunity to learn and play a band instrument in a fun and social environment. Being 'In the Band' promotes intellectual stimulation and physical refinement and encourages students to learn, make friends, and enjoy playing music together. Students in this program are in Grade 3, and are keen to explore music making with Band Instruments.
Band Basics serves as a stepping stone for students to enter the UP Band ASA Instrumental Music Program or engage in community music activities for pleasure. For more information please click here.
